Background: Objective of the study was to evaluate patterns dyslipidaemia in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus-2 (T2DM) patients and understand initial management options utilised by treating physician.Methods: The real world, retrospective, observational REcent trends dyslipidemia Management strategy diAgnosed Patients (REMAP-2) conducted at various centers including hospitals, clinics, health care institutes across India between Apr-2021 Mar-2022. Clinicians respective center captured data REMAP-2 capture form. Dyslipidemia considered as: total cholesterol >200 mg/dl, low density lipoprotein (LDL-C) >100 high (HDL-C) <40 or triglyceride >150 mg/dl.Results: Of 9605 T2DM with dyslipidemia, 68.94% (n=6622) had mixed dyslipidemia. mean age 53.8 years. Majority were males (63.3%), family history (52.5%), physical activity category ‘not very active’ ‘lightly (79.33%), overweight obese (58.9%). About 25.9% smokers. Hypertension (72.33%) most common comorbidity followed coronary artery disease (23.44%). glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) 8.3%. commonly prescribed antidiabetic medication metformin (87.71%), while lipid lowering therapy atorvastatin (77.79%).Conclusions: This on found that majority hypertriglyceridemia, physically inactive.
